When it is used
A registered business issues a tax invoice for every taxable sale of goods or services. It is the document the buyer claims input tax credit on, so the GSTIN, place of supply and tax split must be right.
What it contains

- Buyer name, address, GSTIN and place of supply
- HSN/SAC code, quantity, rate and taxable value per line
